Water Finds A Way, Will You?
Going with the flow.
For years I was a true ski bum. Living in my van and roaming around without much of a plan. But I had many goals and dreams. My dedication to skiing and pursuing it with all my heart kept me highly motivated. Working out, yoga, making $$, trampoline, slack line and watching ski movies fuelled my stoke when I wasn’t actually skiing. Fully obsessed.
A series of perfectly timed injuries throughout the decade of slopestyle competition skiing pushed me to view life from a different perspective. The last couple big ones were at pivotal moments in my career. Causing me to realize my true path wasn’t what I envisioned all this time.
I had to find a new way to flow. I went within and deeply studied nutrition, fitness, mindfulness, healing and mindset. Growing in so many ways. Finding a more personal and artistic form of skiing.
Water is patient.
Water is powerful.
I feel that you don’t always need a solid plan to take action. You just have to start moving. Following your inner compass and flowing with your truth. It doesn’t have to make sense to anyone else but you. It’s usually better if people question and doubt you. That means you’re walking your authentic path.
Water always find a way.
Will you?
“Empty your mind.
Be formless, shapeless, like water.
Put water into a cup, it becomes the cup.
Put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle.
Put water into a teapot, it becomes the teapot
Water can flow or it can crash.
Be water, my friend.”
- Bruce Lee
